Dean Julkipli M. Wadi meets Secretary Delfin N. Lorenza of the Department of National Defense at the latter’s office at Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City on May 23, 2022.
Dean Wadi submitted in his letter to the Secretary “Peace, Development, and Microfinance Project — Phase Piloting 1 at Barangay Siunogan, Indanan Muncipality, Province of Sulu.” The program is a joint program of UP-Institute of Islamic Studies and ASA Philippines Foundation, Inc., the largest micro finance NGO in the country. The project was started before the pandemic as the area was previously visited by Dean Wadi and ASA Phil team with the assistance of Brig. Gen. Ignatius N. Patrimonio on January 27, 2020.
Sec. Lorenzana suggested ways to make the program effective like introducing in the community inter-cropping methods like planting coffee and other easy to cultivate but high yielding plants and trees. He instructed his Senior Military Assistant to the SND, Commodore Ruben B. Fajardo, to relay the PDM Program to BGen. Patrimonio in Jolo, Sulu.
With Dean Wadi is Atty. Zosimo Jesus Paredes (ret. Gen), adviser to the SND and DND Sec. Delfin Lorenzana
