RAIS' Philosophy

At RAIS, we believe that…

  • All plans and action should be grounded on a firm system of faith and ideology that recognize the supremacy of One God and the latitude of man’s initiative and capabilities under God’s law.
  • Man is a physical, mental, and spiritual being who must strive for the holistic development and full fruition of his body, mind, and spirit.
  • Knowledge (‘ilm) and enlightenment (ta’leem) are basic to empowerment (qadariyaah), and empowerment must be guided by God-consciousness (taqwa), morality (adab), responsibility (masa’uliyyah), justice (adl), reform (tajdeed), perseverance (sabr) and exertion (ijtihad) toward a progress (taqaddum) which is both individual (ayn) and collective (kifayah).
  • Economic growth and the good life (Bayyah tayyibah) are bounties of God (fadl Allah) to be achieved through physical and moral efforts and interventions in an environment of equal opportunity and peace. Economic accomplishment must be turned into spiritual achievements, for the real attainment of the bounties of God is done by seeking His acceptance of our success.
  • Every member of the society can and should contribute to the advancement of society and growth of everyone by continuously enhancing his capabilities through legally and morally acceptable means.
  • Research and quest for knowledge are important tools for strengthening faith, advancing ideology and technology, applying the law, and enhancing the material and spiritual lives of man and society.
Projects
  • RAIS undertakes research, policy studies, and collaborates in the conduct of seminars and training workshops on Muslim issues and topics.
  • Its thrusts center on emphasizing Islamic wisdom in contemporary times. Along this direction, it promotes development concerns such as activities like data-collection, consolidation, consultations, and linkages with concerned institutions.
  • In accordance with the belief that Islam fully supports social and economic development, RAIS intends to evolve and operationalize an Islamic value framework in consonance with its philosophy and beliefs.
